A picture is worth a thousand words, but words are important too...

Half of being a good designer is being able to understand users’ needs. I’ve developed the skills that make that possible, including:

  • User interviews, observation, and reporting
  • Survey writing and design
  • Survey administration and data collection
  • Persona development
  • Card sort setup and moderation

And then there are the intangibles—things I didn’t learn from a specific class or job, but which make me a more well-rounded asset to any organization:

Writing

I’ll represent you well in everything from client emails to reports to presentation slides.

Management

I've managed teams of people all over the country in call centers and in-person data-collection efforts, and have been repeatedly thanked as someone my employees respect and trust.

Sales

While I don't always think of myself as a sales person, I do enjoy honestly representing the high quality products of a good company. In the sales jobs I've had, I've swayed an unlikely buyer or two through the rapport that is established with honesty, knowledge, enthusiasm, and patience. If you can sell the product to me, I can sell it to clients.
